Crete, Chania
2025
This is a 27 m² hotel room in Crete with a balcony view. The interior combines minimalist and eco elements with references to ancient Greece, featuring deep red and dark tones. The bed sits on a concrete platform supported by wooden beams made of dark olive wood, traditional to the region. The floor and concrete finishes harmonize with this natural material.
The bathroom is decorated with terracotta tiles and white marble with red veins, creating a luxurious and cozy atmosphere. Marble cabinets in the kitchen and heavy accents add solidity. A small kitchen and a compact desk provide functionality. This space is designed for year-round relaxation, where classic Greek palettes are replaced with bold and soothing shades.
CONCEPT
This interior project draws its soul from the evocative aesthetic of the Minoan era: an ancient Cretan civilization known for its vibrant color palette, refined craftsmanship, and architectural poise, translating it into a minimalist, modern living experience.
The goal is not to replicate Minoan style but to distill its emotional resonance and ritualistic spatiality into a contemporary framework that honors material honesty, compositional clarity, and sensorial grounding.
