This 62 m² glass house is located in northern Greece, surrounded by a forest of black pine and Cephalonian fir. The architecture creates a complete connection with nature: the walls are made of black tinted transparent glass, which blocks direct sunlight while preserving unobstructed views of the surroundings.

The floor, ceiling, and structural walls are finished with high-quality black microcement — a seamless, crack-resistant material with a smooth, deep-toned texture. The interior features brass accents that add a refined touch, while the kitchen shelves and cabinetry are made of matte black MDF, reinforcing the sense of minimalism and visual unity.

The soft furniture is upholstered in velvet or a wool-blend fabric with synthetic fibers — durable yet comfortable to the touch. Warm 3500 K lighting gives the space a gentle, calming glow. The geometric layout of rooms at 45° angles enhances the sense of immersion and depth.

Dark tones in this natural context don’t feel heavy — they soothe, mute visual noise, and encourage inner stillness. This is a "dark space" concept, not for everyday living, but for short-term escapes: a three-day reset surrounded by shadow, silence, and tactile materiality. Here, nature doesn't dazzle — it embraces.

CONCEPT

This project explores the quiet strength of black tones, grounding the space in a palette that speaks to depth, stillness, and clarity. The materials burnt wood, dark microcement, black steel, glass, and raw textiles, are not used to dominate, but to disappear gently into the environment, allowing space for light, shadow, and natural rhythms to emerge.

Placed directly on the damp forest ground, the composition draws a literal and symbolic connection between the built environment and the natural world. Nothing is over-styled or artificial, each element rests as if it belongs, like it has always been there.

This is a study in silence, contrast, and authenticity. Nature is not mimicked—it is acknowledged and respected. Materials hold traces of human touch.

The project present harmonious minimalism, where fewer materials speak louder. Black becomes not just a color, but a backdrop for life, memory, and atmosphere. The result is a deeply sensorial experience, one that invites pause, presence, and connection.
